Setup Both-Sides Audio Capture

This lets the assistant hear both you and your prospect during Zoom/FaceTime calls — not just your microphone.

Step 1 — Install BlackHole

Download BlackHole 2ch from existential.audio/blackhole (free). Install it and restart your Mac.

Step 2 — Create Aggregate Device

Open Audio MIDI Setup (Spotlight → "Audio MIDI Setup"). Click + → Create Aggregate Device.

Check both BlackHole 2ch and your MacBook Microphone (or AirPods). Name it HC Both Sides.

Step 3 — During a Zoom Call

In Zoom: Settings → Audio → Speaker → set to BlackHole 2ch. This routes Zoom's audio through BlackHole.

Back in this app: Audio In dropdown → select HC Both Sides. The badge turns green.

Your AirPods/headphones: plug in separately or use your Mac speakers. Zoom output → BlackHole → app. You still hear via your headphones independently.

AirPods / Headphone Note

If you use AirPods on calls, Zoom will want to use them as the mic+speaker. Instead: set Zoom speaker to BlackHole, Zoom mic to AirPods. The app captures BlackHole (both sides) while you hear through AirPods.
